Darn it, now that song will be stuck in my head all day. :-)
Well....I finally kicked enough of my cold's butt to get myself to the gym today. I was going stir crazy not being able to run....but there was no way I was going to push my luck and make myself worse. I'm leaving on Monday for a work trip...and flying while sick is horrible.
Whatever illness was left in me when I got to the gym has to be gone now. I sweat 7 gallons of fluid and toxins out of myself, and that was just during my walking warm up.
(hehehehehe)
I probably lost another 10 or so when I started actually running.
I was determined to stay at the pace I'd been running before I got sick.....and if I started feeling funny....would slow down and back off.
Besides risking a slip and fall from the water running down my face and arms, I kept it up the full three miles and felt fine.
Run 2 min, walk 1 min intervals.....at a minimum of speed of 6.5 on the dreadmill.
3.01 miles, 10:04 avg pace when it was all said and done.
I'll take that! :-)

Nice job. Hope that you feel better before flying. In my opinion - flying is horrible at all times.
@ C2Iowa - stuck in a plane for 13 hours, on my way to South Korea (in 1999)...stuck there next to a very drunk man who 1) claimed to be an xmas tree salesman from Minnesota 2) claimed cabbage was the cure to the SARS virus 3) and claimed he was on his way to Indonesia (or something like that) to hang out with little girls. (ick)
Any 2 hour flight to Texas pales in comparison now. :-) :-)
That as in awesome run! Welcome back!
@ Lori - thanks!!! :-)
Well, I cannot fly and be relaxed. Thirteen hours? Shoot me dead. I was like a penned up Irish Setter whe I flew to Europe in 1985. I almost made like Pres. Ford and "kissed" the ground.
I'm getting better about the flying and relaxing thing. But I'm still not totally cool about doing it. I think it depends on the destination. Somewhere cool for vacation = awesome! Somewhere uncool for work = crap!
Wow, that's a great pace! What did you go to South Korea for? that's where I was born =)
Great work on the run Nej!
Have a safe trip Monday.
@ Anna - President Bush was going to attend the APEC conference, and they wanted an American chorus represented at this big choral competition they do the same week.
Born in South Korea....do you remember living there? Or did you move when you were still young. I'd actually like to go back, it was a great trip!
Sounds like a good run, especially after being sick!
Hope you have a good trip!
I have to travel for a work in another week and I'm not looking forward to it. I have to get so much stuff ready to help the husband manage homework/lunches while I'm away lol.
@ Faith Ann - How did hubby fare while you were gone?
