Hood to Coast

I'm a sucker for a running documentary.

I know that would probably sound completely nerdish in normal conversation, but I'm sure you all understand! :-)

On a whim last night I decided to buy a ticket and go to the theater alone (gasp)...to watch the film.

I figure, I run in the mornings alone, I run in races alone, I run at the gym alone (mostly)....so why not go watch a movie about running....alone?

Well, that and I couldn't convince my sister to go along. (hehehehehe)

I'm hooked. I want to do this race so badly, I can taste it!!!! I can feel the sweet running down my face from the warm Oregon August sun.

Wait - the sun shines in Portland?? I guarantee you, the year I'm able to run this race will be the year it rains the entire time!!! (For those of you who like to run in the rain, I'm available for hire. Put me on your team - and the rain shall come!!!)

2011 is the 30th Anniversary of the race....how cool would it be to run it, for the first time, on an anniversary year?? :-)

Too bad the thing fills up the first nano-second registration is open. :-) :-) :-)

(Those of you who want rain still have time to hobble one of your team members, and open a spot for me.....just sayin'.)

I think the Hood to Coast does sound pretty fun. I just got back from the Ragnar Miami to Key West relay. It was an absolute blast.

Check out my friend Shelley's blog, she talked about this today too and even about forming a group:

No problem you're on Team Jacob: more Edward for me

It took me 4 books before I started to appreciate and like Jacob. The first three books I didn't like him that much. But Taylor Lautner is cute.

HAHA, the sun does shine in Portland, just not all that often. I'm yearning to do a half marathon on the Oregon Coast (Newport). It's my favourite coast town and I love running there, so a race would be super cool.

The sun DOES shine in the Pacific Northwest. Just not, um, today. Or tomorrow. Or anytime in the five day forecast. But it does - take my word for it...

@ Fran - See, that movie makes you NEED to run that race!! :-) :-) I hope she's able to get a team together, it looks like fun!!!!

I've only read the first 2.5 (never made it through the 3rd) books....but am definitely thinking she needs to ditch the vamp and stay with the wolf. (giggle)

@ Heidi - My brother in law and family have recently bought a house on the Oregon coast...but the name of the town is eluding me at the moment. It's gorgeous out there!!!! I've looked at doing a couple of the half marathons out there....I'm sure I'll end up doing at least one sometime.

@ Andrew - An award? For me?? I'll have to check it out later today for sure!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm honored!

@ Alan - Hood to Coast showed a couple of days of sun....or they at least made it look like it was sunny. :-) And in the two trips I've made there, I did see the sun once. It was quick, I almost missed it...but it WAS there. :-)
