Alex Rogan: Wait a minute. We knock out the turret to get the fighters. But to get to the turret, we gotta get THROUGH the fighters. We're dead.
Grig: I'll have it all figured out by the time we reach the Frontier.
(alarm sounds)
Alex: What's that?
Grig: The Frontier
(Best scene in a movie...ever!)

This all has a point...I swear!
You'll never guess what I did last night?
I came up with a plan. A new training plan.
It seems that while I love to run for the sake of running.....it's also quite easy for me to talk myself out of running when I don't have a plan.
So here it is....
(drum roll please)
Ta-Da!!! Proof that a plan exists.
Now that I've completed my first half marathon, my mission is to keep running more of them (and possibly up the anty and run a full in the fall)....while also adding in cycling.
I secretly want to start competing in duathlons.
Yep, you heard me....biking and running.
I've gone mad!!!!!!
(curse my fear of water and swimming...or I'd be a tri gal)
(grrrrr)
:-)
I also need to add in strength training....but I'll do that once I've firmly introduced the whole cycling thing.
Baby steps folks...baby steps. :-)

Oh good for you! I like a plan. Occassionally I like to venture away from it just to be a rebel, but in general a plan keeps me in line.
How exciting that you're considering the full! And Dualathons - awesome. I'm totally interested in that, except my odl mountain bike isn't any good for it. Hopefully one day I get a decent one. I don't think I'll ever do a tri either. I don't mind swimming (don't love it), but the open water thing totally turns me off.
Congratulations on the birth of your new plan....all typed out and everything! How can it possibly be ignored?
This is waaay to ambitious for me!
@ Heidi - I tell you what...even though I know there will be days that I have to deviate...at least having an outline...an idea....of what I need to be doing...to keep myself flying in the right direction.....I feel a ton better. :-)
@ Brian - If I hand write it, I'll be able to use the excuse that I couldn't read it. (hehehehehe)
Yep - my handwriting is that bad.
I should have been a doctor. :-)
@ Steve - too ambitious for me as well....no one ever accused me of being sane...that's for sure! :-)
Love the plan Nej! Looks good.
I always need a plan to keep me on track. Without it I start skipping workouts.
@ Fran - that's my problem as well. :-)
The first few months of this new plan look pretty timid.....but once I start seeing those long runs over 20 miles, I get a little nervous.
2011 is going to be a wild ride! :-)
I hear ya! I have a water phobia so tris are out for me...i HAVE thought about a duathalon, but the fear of RACING on a bike and falling off and breaking my arm, or falling off and having scores of people run into, or over me isnt too applealing either =)
Is this a plan you came up w/ on your own or did you get it from somewhere?
@ rawbanana (love that name!) - It's a mixture of a training plan I found, and then my own stuff included (spin classes, races, etc).
Have you see the tag team duathlons? One bike, two people. One person starts on a bike, and one starts on foot. At a certain point the bikes ditches the bike and runs. The other person (who's been running) picks up the bike when they get to it and finish that way. The idea is to finish together. It looks fun!!!!!!!! Trying to talk my sister into doing one with me, but she's saying no. :-)
That is awesome, but yes you're mad, lol! Cycling! Eeek! That seems so hard to me. But go get em! I've no doubt you'll succeed.
@ Lori - if you can believe it, I'm finding that I actually look MORE forward to spin classes than running right now. I'm sure it's just because it's new. :-)
